Navajo artist, Gilbert (JR) Tolino, began silversmithing in 1987. He learned from his uncle and by watching others. His distinctive rug design style silverwork is intricate and demanding. JR has won Honorable Mention, First, Second and Third Place ribbons at the Gallup Ceremonials. He is a humble, quiet man who has been known to "amaze himself" with his beautiful jewelry.
