Turtles in Hopi religion symbolize the bearers of life, the ones who carry the weight of the world on their backs. The artist also included a corn crops design symbolizing growth and prosperity with weather designs on either side of the turtle shell. Hand etched detail is displayed beneath the gold with a darkened background, and the bale is made from solid 14K gold as well.
