Hopi overlay master silversmith Chalmers Day has created a bracelet that shares Hopi mythology with the wearer. The Avanyu horned serpent rises from the underworld to meet the mudmen Kachinas who lead the people to their homes in the real world, the pueblo of modern time. The kachinas carry corn and offerings to the serpent in the belief that abundance will prevail amongst the people. The Avanyu is the guardian of water which is the source of all life.
