Navajo overlay artist Kee Yazzie has created this unusual belt buckle by overlaying the front with dozens of Anasazi inspired petroglyphs and a circular solid 14K gold accent. The petroglyphs are set against a finely etched and darkened background. The underside of the buckle is overlayed in reverse with symbols including the bear for protection, hand for healing, water designs and stars. The effect of the differing styles of overlay is the creation of a piece unique to this artist.
