Gilbert (JR) Tolino – Navajo
Navajo artist, Gilbert (JR) Tolino, began silversmithing in 1987. He learned from his uncle and by watching others. His distinctive rug design style silverwork is intricate and demanding. JR has won Honorable Mention, First, Second and Third Place ribbons at the Gallup Ceremonials. He is a humble, quiet man who has been known to “amaze himself” with his beautiful jewelry.

With a unique shape and wonderful detail, this one of a kind bracelet was hand made by award winning Navajo silversmith, Gilbert J.R. Tolino. Set with rare natural turquoise from the now depleted Candelaria mine in Nevada, the stone includes hues of gorgeous blue with chocolate-brown matrix. The shape of the cabochon is very unusual and made even more spectacular by the way the piece tapers down in size from one side to the next. Tolino's fine Navajo rug pattern is amazing with detail that flows together beautifully.
