Kee Yazzie – Navajo
Navajo jeweler Kee Yazzie lives near Ganado Arizona amidst spectacular deep canyons that contain thousands of ancient petroglyphs on their walls. Kee uses these ancient symbols as the signature designs on his amazing jewelry. Inside and out he cuts out and overlays dozens of these petroglyphs onto his creations. With a background in design architecture he overlays with exquisite precision. Jewelers such as Ray Scott and Norbert Peshlaki have inspired his art as well. Today Kee has been recognized as one of the finest overlay artists in the world through many awards at Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum and many others.

A large gem grade natural black web Kingman turquoise has been chosen to set atop this gorgeous ring. The cabochon represents the very finest quality from the mine and is a marvelous deep blue with incredibly fine pin point black spiderweb matrix. This quality is seldom encountered due to the complexity of the webbing and depth of hue. The stone is encircled by a hand chiseled bezel, perfectly filed and cut. The shank is the ideal compliment to the beauty of the cabochon as well and is created out of two pieces of sterling silver. This marvelous bear design ring crerated by Navajo jeweler Kee Yazzie features a solid fourteen karat gold bear raised atop a heavily etched and oxidized background. Navajo jeweler Kee Yazzie has created a bracelet that is among the best of his career. The bracelet is wide and covered with dozens of overlaid petroglyphs with symbols including the bear for protection and guidance, hands for healing, dragonflies for luck and water essential for all life. In the center of the bracelet is a large and incredibly rare gem grade Blue Star spiderweb turquoise cabochon. The gem exhibits a tremendous amount of depth and is deep blue with complex red and black spider webbing. The gem is deeply lustrous and ranks with the finest turquoise found in Nevada. Some times the finest gem stones are recovered in small lots from mines that produce very little.

The buckle is finished by setting an exceptional rare gem grade natural Bisbee turquoise cabochon in a fine hand chiseled bezel. The gem is the finest quality produced at the mine with a translucent hue of deep blue and vibrant reddish-brown swirls of matrix.

The top of the bracelet is covered with wonderful symbols representing healing, protection and prosperity. The designs include the moon and stars, water, tadpoles, hands, bears and crosses overlayed against a deeply textured background. The underside of the piece shows dragonflies whirling across the rock face with mountains in the foreground. The piece is finished with two spectacular rare gem grade natural Candelaria turquoise cabochons at each end set in expertly cut bezels. The cabochons feature a deep blue hue with reddish brown matrix.
