Stunning 1930s Zuni leaf pin. This pin features a natural high grade turquoise beautifully carved into a leaf. The turquoise is a beautiful blue green with a touch of black chert matrix. The carving is reminiscent of the work of Leekya Deyuse and though not signed may indeed be his carving. The silverwork we believe to be Dan Simplicio. The standard reference is the C G Wallace collection auctioned November 14,1975. In this collection are several works similar to this offering.
