This is an outstanding example of the beautiful exotic colors obtained from the Peacock claim in north central Nevada. Peacock is a mine that put out a small amount of gem grade material two decades ago. The Peacock mine is in Crescent Valley near the Lander Blue and the New Lander claims. This large square cut specimen is deep hunter green with complex black spiderweb matrix. Flecks of gold matrix appear as a result of the granite seam in which it is found. Navajo jeweler Sunshine Reeves compliments the beauty of the stone to perfection. The cabochon sits in a hand made bezel surrounded in twist wire. The wide shank is completely hand stamped in a unique and complex Navajo rug pattern. Sunshine then overlays large and dramatic highly polished scallops on either side adding an elegant contrast between the dark oxidation of the pattern below.
