The cabochons are rare and elusive gem grade natural Darling Darlene from Nevada. Deep blue green with gold host rock spiderweb matrix they mimic the colors of the natural fly. The wings of the pin are just as complex as the body with fine and complex stamp work. At the end of the fly sits a unique curved tail of sterling silver.

Sammie Kescoli Begay has chosen a large and rare Apache Blue gem stone to create this gorgeous bracelet. The gem grade natural cabochon is a dark mysterious blue with flecks of black and golden host rock matrix. He has set the gem in a hand made bezel surrounded in heavy twist and a finely beaded design. The entire bracelet is forged from pulled and hand braided ingot wire. Large scallops adorn each side with deep stamping and stars in between. The finished product is dazzling and highly collectible.

This stunning dragonfly is Sammie's unique design. He has chosen seldom seen rare and beautiful gem grade natural Bisbee turquoise cabochons to set in the fly. The stones are classic dark Bisbee blue from the lavender pit. Large dark blue eyes emerge as the body fills out with six matching gems. The entire piece is made from rolled ingot with deep oxidation and droplets used to make the cabochons pop. The finished piece is a fine collectible.

This gorgeous cross created by Navajo jeweler Leonard Nez is set with gem grade natural Royston turquoise from Nevada. Deep sky blue, they feature complex tight golden and reddish-brown spiderweb matrix, unusual for the mine. The gems are perfectly set off by the deeply oxidized shadowbox designs and large droplets in the center of the piece. The beautiful shape of the cross is hand cut from sterling silver and is elegantly stamped for effect. The cross is affixed to a fan design bale with fine thin lines that radiate out towards the top.

This is Sammie Kescoli Begay's contemporary revival of the classic Navajo first phase concho belt. The first phase of Navajo silver work dates from the 1860s to the turn of the century. Early smiths learned from itinerant Spanish and Mexican blacksmiths who taught them the trade. They were made from coin, melted and forged into ingots then hammered into shape. Typically the conchos were ovals with little designs in the middle. The design elements were on the perimeter. Sammie has revived this phase of Navajo design to perfection with this heavy and elegant belt. Produced entirely out of hand rolled and hammered ingot sterling silver, it is classic in design and beauty.
