The beautiful bird has the wind at his back with the storm clouds and rain in the foreground. A medicine man smokes his pipe as the mudhead rises from the underworld to greet him.

With an amazing amount of attention dedicated to detail this exceptional belt buckle hand made by Hopi artist, Chalmers Day, is of very fine quality. The item includes a beautiful eagle clan design with the bird elegantly displayed in flight across the center of the piece. The wing of the bird can be seen in the upper portion of the buckle with a wind symbol behind and prayer feathers in front. The checkered design to the left signifies the four seasons and the triangles on the far right represent water, essential for all life on earth. Storm clouds and rain give nourishment to the growing crops and the Hopi medicine men make offerings in prayer for a bountiful harvest.

The gem is deep almost purple blue with reddish-brown spiderwebbing, the highest grade found at this elusive mine. The cabochon is encircled with a solid eighteen karat gold bezel, twist wire, a beaded design and three large droplets on one side.
