The Brandon pit is a tiny hat mine in Nevada that has produced a hand full of gem grade natural turquoise. This example is thick cut with a wonderful high dome. The cabochon exhibits a gorgeous hue of deep sky blue with traces of light water webbing and hints of reddish-brown matrix. Ned Nez has skillfully set the gem in a shadowbox by carefully chiseling a ridge around the outer edge of the piece. He has hand braided sterling silver wire beneath the bezel inside the shadowbox as a special touch. The piece is finished by delicately stamping the shank on either side with an elegant unique pattern.

This beautiful and powerful bracelet was created by master Hopi overlay artist, Chalmers Day. The central figure is the bear, symbol of protection and guidance. The figure in front of the bear is the shaman, or medicine man, who is asking for blessings and calling to the eagle to bring life giving rain to the village. Behind the medicine man is his apprentice. The eagle flying over the bear is responding to the call. Symbols for rain clouds, lightening and wind surround the animals and the village is represented as well in this intricate work of art.
