Fine graduated sterling silver beads made entirely by hand are rare on today's market. Most beads are machine made and imported. Navajo jeweler Terry Martinez creates his in the traditional fashion passed down by his ancestors. Each half bead is made entirely from scratch from ingot sterling silver that is first melted down and hand rolled into sheet. The sheet is circularly hand cut, stamped and then the halves are bumped out from the back and seamlessly connected. The labor involved is tremendous and Terry rarely creates beads because of it. The completed piece hangs beautifully at the neckline and is perfect to wear alone or for use with your favorite pendant.
