The gems are perfectly set off by the deeply oxidized shadowbox designs and large droplets in the center of the piece. The beautiful shape of the cross is hand cut from sterling silver and is elegantly stamped for effect. The cross is affixed to a fan design bale with fine thin lines that radiate out towards the top.

This is Sammie Kescoli Begay's contemporary revival of the classic Navajo first phase concho belt. The first phase of Navajo silver work dates from the 1860s to the turn of the century. Early smiths learned from itinerant Spanish and Mexican blacksmiths who taught them the trade. They were made from coin, melted and forged into ingots then hammered into shape. Typically the conchos were ovals with little designs in the middle. The design elements were on the perimeter. Sammie has revived this phase of Navajo design to perfection with this heavy and elegant belt. Produced entirely out of hand rolled and hammered ingot sterling silver, it is classic in design and beauty.

A rare and marvelous Carico Lake spiderweb turquoise has been chosen to set in this exceptional ring. The gem is deep 3D blue with complex dark chocolate and golden brown spiderweb matrix. This grade from this classic Nevada mine was once called supreme for its beauty and rarity. Sammie has chosen a heavy solid eighteen karat gold bezel to encircle the specimen. The bezel is high and finely hand chiseled. It is surrounded in an incredible combination of thick eighteen karat gold twist wire and a finely beaded design with three large droplets placed on one side for effect. This gorgeous ring face is held by a heavy rolled and hammered shank made of ingot sterling silver, deeply stamped its entirety.

A wonderful gem grade natural Candelaria turquoise was chosen for this stunning ring. The cabochon is deep electric blue with classic red host rock matrix. The luster is phenomenal. It is set in a high solid eighteen carat gold bezel finely chiseled by the artist. Thick eighteen karat gold twist wire is hand woven on either side. Dozens of tiny eighteen karat gold beads surround the twist with exquisite hand made gold stars at each end.
