Hopi jeweler Watson Honanie has created a signature milestone with this wilderness scene belt buckle. Two separate thick sheets of solid fourteen karat gold are precision hand cut and overlaid on a heavy gauge layer of sterling silver giving the piece substantial weight. The central focus of the masterpiece design is three elks standing in a meadow as their cow elk grazes. It is mating season as the bulls bugle into the void. Surrounding the elk are moose, howling wolves, deer, rams, buffalo and bear. The elk meadow scene is deeply oxidized and etched in a shadowbox creating a three dimensional effect. The other animals along the edge of the meadow are bright but not oxidized. It is as if Watson intended them to be at the edge of the meadow, seen, but largely out of sight.

Darryl Dean Begay, the great master of one of a kind tufa work has created this magnificent bracelet by carving large leaves and vines at either end of the bracelet shank with two hovering humming birds in the garden. The humming birds are seeking a magnificent blue flower that sits atop the bracelet. This flower is a very rare gem grade natural Godber Burnham turquoise. The gem is electric sky blue with complex vibrant reddish-brown spider webbing. This is the finest grade produced at the mine and ranks with the best gems to be found in Nevada. The high domed specimen is encased in a fine solid eighteen karat gold bezel precisely hand cut to curl around the edges of the cabochon. The finished bracelet is one of Darryl's finest.

The ram, bear, bull elk and buffalo represent the most magnificent animals living in the high Rocky Mountains near the Hopi Pueblo. Watson cuts each figure out of thick solid fourteen karat gold and individually overlays them on sterling silver. This is a technique mastered by few jewelers as the melting temperature for the two metals varies. He finishes this fine bracelet by delicately etching the sterling silver back ground adding further eye-catching appeal to the piece.

Watson Honanie has created this beautiful elk themed belt buckle by overlaying solid fourteen karat gold on sterling silver. Leo has cut four cabochons out of incredibly rare gem grade Red Mountain turquoise and interspersed the large and small segments with deep oxblood red Mediterranean coral and deep blue lapis to create the stunning effect. Red Mountain of this quality is exceedingly difficult to find on today's market and the turquoise exhibits an astonishing amount of deep blue depth with vibrant reddish-brown spiderweb matrix. Each segment of stone is inlaid precisely one to the other, raised in a channel to fit perfectly. A thin line of solid gold is placed in the center as a special touch. To each side is a design reminiscent of the Waterbird, the symbol of the Native American Church. Leo himself is an elder in the church and renown medicine man.

This magnificent bracelet is set with a gem grade natural Royston turquoise representing the finest quality from the mine. The gem is a perfectly cut square. Blue, blue green and green swirl with electric intensity. The chocolate and gold spiderweb host rock matrix adds depth to the beauty of the stone. This incredible five strand necklace is made of fine gem grade natural Dry Creek turquoise from central Nevada. Each nugget is hand drilled and separated by olive shell heishi. The gem grade natural turquoise from the Royston mine exhibits an astonishing high luster with gorgeous golden flecks of matrix through out.
