The piece also displays gorgeous detail in solid 14K gold over sterling silver. Intricate hand carved petroglyph symbols of prosperity and strength can be found on the exterior. The designs of the item include the man and woman marriage symbol, hands for healing, migration, moon and stars. The artist included hand etched detail beneath the gold with wonderful oxidation used to bring out the symbolage making this piece very eye-catching and elegant. Arland is very famous not only for his unique and labor intensive silver work but for his use of only the highest quality natural American turquoise.

The center of the item portrays five whimsical creatures brought out with a darkened background. Two butterflies and a large hummingbird can be seen flying above the grass and cattails with the avanyu water serpent (guardian of water sources) and turtle seen below.
